Put Your Best Foot Forward in China
Exhibits are either permanent or temporary. They are permanent when they are created for museums, aquariums or parks, and are temporary when exist for a short time only as displays for trade shows or events. Both require concept sketches, plans and elevations, perspectives and highly detailed working drawings to calculate quantities of materials and costs.
Events can be many things from art gallery openings to fashion shows, new car rallies or even corporate motivationals. They can also be as simple as a child’s birthday or as complex as a national holiday celebration. Events can be impromptu as in the case of street theater, or well plan and choreographed as a rock concert and usually coincide with exhibitions, which provide the venues.
Productions, or extended events as I would like to call them, can be theater plays and musicals, television programs, fashion shows or even movies. My involvement is consistently the same. I must analyze the client’s needs and deliver solutions. Depending on the nature of the production, films are the most comprehensive and require incredible detail, whereas TV is done in a totally different style often times referred to in the business as “quick and dirty”.
